Artists Edward Dodwell and Simone Pomardi travelled together in Greece in the years 1805-1806, producing nearly one thousand illustrations of the country towards the end of its fourth century of subjugation by the Ottoman Turks. These images appeared, in full colour, in Dodwell’s Views of Greece, published in London in 1821.
